Aquamarine is the birthstone for March and has been said to help calm and soothe the mind.

The first sign of Aquamarine dates back to ancient Greece and Rome. The Romans believed that the stone fell out of a mermaids treasure chest that if sailors wore it while traveling across the sea, it would ensure their protection.

Pliny the Elder, a Roman philosopher, wrote “The lovely aquamarine, which seems to have come from some mermaid’s treasure house. In the depths of a summer sea, has charms not to be denied”.
